Now let's see who does the destroying of the nation.

6 Understand therefore, that the Lord thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.
7 Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the Lord thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the Lord.
8 Also in Horeb ye provoked the Lord to wrath, so that the Lord was angry with you to have destroyed you.
9 When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the Lord made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:
10 And the Lord delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the Lord spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

In the book of Joshua it's says God destroyed more of the people than the armies of Israel.
(1) God drives them out of the land of Canaan.
(2) Because these nations are wicked and commiting all kinds of abominations: child sacrifice, pedophilia, beastiality, worshiping devils and everything God hates.

Another verse that proves Jesus destroys the nations for their unrepented sin and indulgence of it.

God repeats 3-4 times in chapter 9 of Deuteronomy that it is him doing the “genocide” , judging the nations for their wickedness.
And God emphasizes that it's not for Israel's righteousness nor because they are righteous.
God first eliminates the rebellious children of Israel in the wilderness then the other nations.
Even in Jericho Rahab & her people heard about the miracles that were happening, that God was doing for Israel and they were afraid.
So these wicked nations knew and had knowledge of God and even after those 40 years they still continued in their wickedness and God has the right to judge them! 👍🏻
